About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and transcripts.fyi (“we”, “us”). They cover the website, the reports on it and the emails we send. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information.
By creating an account or using transcripts.fyi, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
What transcripts.fyi is
For each company we cover, we publish a report (we call it an arc) that reads the company’s last twenty or so earnings-call transcripts and draws them together into one interactive explainer. Reports are generated by AI models and refreshed when a new call is published. We also send emails about the companies you watch: earnings updates, a weekly digest and, on Pro, breaking alerts.
Anyone can see a company’s public preview page. Reading a full report requires a free account.
transcripts.fyi is offered only in the United States. We don’t market it, or sell Pro, anywhere else.
Not investment advice
- Reports are general and impersonal. Every reader sees the same report. Nothing on transcripts.fyi takes your finances, goals or tolerance for risk into account.
- We don’t make recommendations. We don’t tell you to buy, sell or hold any security, and nothing here is an offer to buy or sell one. We aren’t a broker-dealer or a registered investment adviser.
- AI makes mistakes. A report can misread a transcript, get a number or a quote wrong, attribute a remark to the wrong person, or leave out context that matters. Check anything important against the company’s own transcripts, filings and announcements.
- Management’s words are theirs. Earnings calls are full of forward-looking statements from company management. Reports summarize what was said; they don’t endorse it or predict what will happen.
- We aren’t affiliated with the companies we cover. They don’t endorse or sponsor transcripts.fyi. Company names, tickers and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the companies.
Investment decisions are yours alone. If you want advice for your own situation, talk to a qualified professional.
Your account
- You must live in the United States and be at least 18 to create an account.
- One person per account. Don’t share your account, and don’t open more than one to get around plan limits.
- We sign you in with one-time links sent to your email address, so there’s no password. Keep your email account secure, and don’t forward sign-in emails: whoever opens the link first can sign in as you.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access to it, tell us at support@transcripts.fyi.
Plans and billing
- Free. Up to 3 watched companies at a time, up to 6 different companies’ reports per calendar month, and the weekly digest. Months run on UTC, and re-reading a report you’ve already opened that month doesn’t count again.
- Pro. $29 a month or $240 a year, in US dollars. Unlimited watchlist and reading, earnings emails as soon as a new call is analyzed, and breaking alerts.
There’s no free trial; the Free plan is the way to try transcripts.fyi. Payments are handled by Stripe, and using Stripe’s checkout and billing portal is also subject to Stripe’s terms.
- Renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from Settings, which takes you to Stripe’s billing portal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and then your account moves to Free. We don’t refund unused parts of a period, except where the law requires it.
- Moving to Free. When Pro ends, your 3 longest-watched companies stay active and the rest are kept but paused. You can choose which ones stay active.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we’ll let you know. If it isn’t fixed, your account moves to Free.
- Price changes. If we change Pro’s price, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your renewal, so you can cancel first if you’d rather.
- What plans include. We may change what each plan includes as the product evolves, but we won’t cut back what Pro includes during a period you’ve already paid for.
Emails
Sign-in emails are part of how your account works, so they always send. Earnings updates, the weekly digest and alerts are subscription emails: turn each one off in Settings or with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. We only send product news if you’ve opted in. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Using transcripts.fyi fairly
Please don’t:
- scrape, crawl or download reports with bots, scripts or other automated tools, or try to get around our bot protection or rate limits;
- copy, republish, sell or otherwise redistribute reports or substantial parts of them (sharing a link is always fine);
- use reports to train or fine-tune AI models, or to build a competing product or dataset;
- share your account, or use more than one account to get around plan limits;
- probe, disrupt or overload the service, or try to reach accounts or data that aren’t yours;
- use transcripts.fyi for anything unlawful, or present our reports as someone else’s work.
We watch for unusual reading patterns. An account that opens an unusually large number of reports may be flagged for review, and we may limit or suspend it, Pro accounts included. If we get it wrong, write to us and we’ll take another look.
Who owns what
The reports, the website and its software belong to us or our licensors. The transcripts and market data behind the reports are licensed from data providers.
While you have an account and follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to read reports and use what you learn from them in your own work and decisions, personal or professional. That license doesn’t include redistributing them.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we’re free to use them without owing you anything.
Other services and sources
Reports and emails link to sources and other websites we don’t control, and payments go through Stripe. We aren’t responsible for third-party content or services, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.
Changes to the service
We’ll keep improving transcripts.fyi, which means we may add, change or remove features, change which companies we cover, or pause the service for maintenance. We don’t promise it will always be available or error-free, or that any particular company will stay covered.
If we ever shut transcripts.fyi down, we’ll tell you by email first and refund the unused part of any prepaid Pro period.
No warranties
transcripts.fyi and its reports are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We aren’t liable for investment, trading or other decisions you make, or for losses that result from them, including losses connected to errors or omissions in a report.
- We aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to transcripts.fyi is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US $50.
Some states don’t allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited, or takes away consumer rights that can’t be waived.
If you break these terms
If you use transcripts.fyi in breach of these terms or the law and someone brings a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, including reasonable legal fees.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting it cancels any Pro subscription so it won’t renew, and if you sign in again within 30 days we’ll restore it. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep afterwards.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to put things right. If we close a Pro account through no fault of yours, we’ll refund the unused part of the period you paid for.
The parts of these terms that by their nature should outlast your account (including the sections on advice, ownership, warranties, liability and the law) do.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date, and if a change is significant we’ll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using transcripts.fyi after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree with them, you can delete your account.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Before starting a formal dispute, please email us and give us 30 days to try to sort it out. Most problems can be fixed that way.
The fine print
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about transcripts.fyi.
- If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce something straight away, we haven’t given up the right to enforce it later.
- You can’t transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of transcripts.fyi, and we’ll tell you if that happens.
- We aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
